Electronic Service Technicians (Household and Business Equipment) Jobs in Canada (NOC 22311)

 

Job Description:

  • Installation, maintenance and repair of home and business electronic equipment such as televisions, radios, VCR, stereos, copiers, computers and peripherals.
  • Inspect and test electronic devices, components, and assemblies using multi meters, circuit testers, oscilloscopes, logic probes, and other electronic test equipment, tools, and devices.
  • Diagnose and identify faults in circuits, components and devices.
  • Adjust, adjust, replace, or repair electronics, assemblies, and components using soldering and other hand and power tools according to the equipment manual and wiring diagrams.
  • Complete work instructions, test and maintenance reports.
  • Can supervise other electronics service technicians.
  • Assemble, install, repair, troubleshoot and maintain electronic components and systems.
  • Research or manufacture spare parts for electronic systems.
  • Ensure that all hand and power tools are used in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with supervisors and customers to discuss work schedules and times and estimate material costs.
  • Train and mentor new technicians and trainees. Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled equipment maintenance.
  • Perform equipment demonstrations and write training manuals as required.
  • Interpretation of drawings, training instructions, and instructions for completing tasks.
  • Follow instructions in writing, orally, and over the phone.
  • Attend regular training seminars and report to supervisors.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree or completed courses in engineering or electronics.
  • Related certificates or permits may be required.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety rules. The ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Excellent written, verbal and telephone communication skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
