IMMIGRATION CASE WORKER / ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

  • Flexible to work extra hours as per business requirements
  • Able to work 40 hours per week as required

You will work closely with an experienced immigration consultant (RCIC) and with client files in various programs such as Federal Skilled Worker Program (Express Entry), Study Permits, Temporary Resident Visas and more. You will NOT provide any consultancy on Immigration.

Job Description
This role is a dual role that encompasses both Immigration Case Work and Administrative Assistant functions.
Immigration Case Worker Job Functions

  • Demonstrates an understanding of processes for the Canadian Immigration process and understanding of Citizenship and Immigration Canada
  • Works on the client intake process, which includes both basic and complex files, while maintaining client files in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Understanding of how to fill out immigration forms and correspondence with accuracy
  • Ability to write immigration letters for items such as study permits, temporary resident visas, and any other correspondence needed
  • Strong attention to detail for completing client files and correspondence
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian Immigration process, which includes the processes of the Federal Skilled Worker Program (Express Entry), Temporary Resident Visas, Study Permits
  • Extensive knowledge of the Express Entry Program & Application Procedures
  • Coordinates the application process from inception to end
  • Work to identify proper immigration programs for clients based on their current situation

Administrative Assistant Job Functions

  • Update and maintain client folders, data sheets, and documentation
  • Think outside the box and provide process improvements where needed
  • Follows through on daily email correspondence with clients
  • Works with all team members to support the achievement of work plan activities designed to achieve identified goals and objectives
  • Process follow-ups on client correspondence and follow through on items needing action
  • Understands and adheres to all agency policies and procedures
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Diploma Business Administration or a related degree
  • 2-3 years of immigration file handling experience
  • Experience working in Canadian Immigration
  • Knowledge of the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Study Permits, and Temporary Resident Visas
  • Ability to work in and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
