Jobs Description:

  • Read and interpret technical plans.
  • Build basic models if necessary.
  • Measure and draw cuts and bends.
  • Install metalworking machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame arresters, brakes and shears.
  • Double check design specifications before starting cutting work.
  • Manufacture and construction of metal structures.
  • Grinding and finishing the finished product.
  • Perform finished product quality check.
  • Comply with state and company safety regulations.
  • Write a report of the work done.
  • Perform finished product quality inspection.
  • Understand customer requirements and specifications.
  • Use metal cleaning equipment such as abrasives, grinders and shot blasters to remove excess solder, rust, scale and other materials from the surface of metal parts, castings and other materials.
  • Polishing metal products for mirror coating
  • Dip metal products in cleaning solution
  • Supporting structural steel and sheet metal installers, sheet metal workers, machine operators or other metal workers.
  • Transport raw materials and finished metal products by hand or using hoists or other equipment.
  • Classification of metal plates and parts, scrap metal and other materials.
  • Clean work areas and equipment.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles with hand trucks or trolleys.
  • Excess metal from metal products can be cut, ground or planed with hand tools.

Job Requirements:

  •  Graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a high school diploma.
  • Experience working as a metal fabricator or in a similar role.
  • Professional certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) will be required.
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical plans.
  • Proficient use of metalworking tools including shears, rollers, flame cutters and drill presses.
  • Advanced math and engineering skills.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects.
  • Capable of standing for long periods of time.
  • Shows excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Outstanding physical endurance.
  • Capable of working for long periods of time if necessary.
  • Demonstrating the ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in welding.
  • Capable of operating various types of production equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and technical instructions.
  • Hard worker and detailed.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently when needed.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems effectively.


Terms of Employment:

•  Full time
•  Permanent
•  15 hourly for 35 hours per week
•  Day, Weekend, Flexible Hours


Required Years of Experience: 1 to 2 years experience in Labourers in Metal Fabrication or in related field.

Salary: $14.00-$20.93 per hour
