Job Description:

• Replace, remove and repair tracks as well as related components.
• Set track tie plates in place, slide them, and cut rails to the required lengths.
• Manage drilling tasks for joints or bolt insertion.
• Align and measure track surface irregularities to ensure the safety of train.
• Put up, maintain, and replace railroad crossing signs.
• Clear the space between the rails of any vegetation like bush.
• Work on lubrication tasks for switches, angle bars, and joints.
• Carry out approved repairs and record the results of all repair actions.
• Rebuild roadbeds and install fresh rail lines.
•  Use tools including picks, shovels, bulldozers, and spike-driving machines to maintain and fix railways.
• Fix or replace particular rail track components.
• Particular rail track components should be fixed or replaced.
• Make sure that all railroad employees follow the safety laws and guidelines.
• Installation and upkeep of switch lamps are handled.
• Correct derailment of rolling stock and help with wheel bearing lubrication.
• Create cost-saving reports for the acquisition of supplies for maintenance and repair.
• Organize inventory for supplies and goods you’ve bought for upkeep.
• Sync up transportation efforts to hasten the passage of trains and vehicles.

Railway and Motor Transport Labourers Jobs in Canada (NOC 7622)

Job Requirements: 

• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in the construction industry preferable.
• Basic comprehension of construction techniques and principles.
• Being able to drive a car with a manual transmission.
• Work comfortably in a stressful workplace with extreme weather changes.

Terms of Employment: 

• Permanent employment
• Full time
• 40 hours per week

Salary: $14.50- $20.90/ Hour

Required Years of Experience: 1-2 years of experience in railway and motor transport, and in a related field.
