Job Description

  • Read and interpret technical plans.
  • Build basic models if necessary.
  • Measure and draw cuts and bends.
  • Install metalworking machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame arresters, brakes and shears.
  • Double check design specifications before starting cutting work.
  • Manufacture and construction of metal structures.
  • Grinding and finishing the finished product.
  • Perform finished product quality inspection.
  • Comply with state and company safety regulations.
  • Complete work reports.
  • Read and interpret architectural plans and engineering plans.
  • Determine material and construction requirements based on design specifications.
  • Construction of steel frames, pillars, columns, concrete reinforcement and other steel structures.
  • Transport steel elements to site and delineate unloading and working areas.
  • Prepare for installation by measuring, cutting, aligning and placing steel structures.
  • Positioning beams, columns and supports using cranes and lifting methods.
  • Check alignment of steel elements using levels, plumbs and laser sights.
  • Install steel infrastructure by bolting, trussing and welding elements together to design specifications.
  • Ensure that all health and safety measures are followed.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of existing steel frames and structures as required.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completed a metalworker apprenticeship program.
  • Completion of an Steel Erection Safety course or similar preference.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Possibility to use cranes and other lifting equipment.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction equipment such as laser levels, power tools, welding equipment and pulley systems.
  • Physically fit and capable of working at height.
  • Willing to work outdoors in difficult weather conditions.
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical plans.
  • Proficient use of metalworking tools including shears, rollers, flame cutters and drill presses.
  • Advanced math and engineering skills.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects.
  • Capable of standing for long periods of time.



Terms of Employment:

  • Full time
  • Permanent
  • 36 to 44 hours per week
  • Day, Early Morning, Morning


Required Years of Experience: 1 year to 2 years experience in sheet metal workers or in related field.

Salary: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
