Job Description:

• Purchase bags, boxes, or packages for customers or for shipping or delivery to customers
• Transporting customer purchases to the parking lot and packing them into vehicles
• Unpacking products received by the store and counting, weigh or sort items
• Use bar code scanners to record arrivals, check prices, and maintain inventory using a computer
• Valuing items using price tags or labels
• Attach protective devices to products to protect against theft
• Store shelves and display areas and keep merchandise clean and organized for customers on shelves or warehouses
• Guide customers to location of wanted subjects
• Can sweep aisles, sweep dust, and perform other general cleaning duties
• Can operate cash registers and computers for e-commerce transactions
• Can order inventory.
• Receive, sort, and store parts and supplies in a warehouse, tool warehouse, or supply warehouse.
• Process requests and route items to the correct location.
• Maintain order books and inventory of available items.
• Order resupply of parts and supplies.
• Selling items.
• Advising customers or users about required parts, supplies and materials.
• Receive and organize incoming parts and supplies
• Store items in an orderly and easily accessible manner in a warehouse, tool room, supply room, or other area
• Handle incoming requests and issue or release parts and supplies for internal use the quantity, type, and location of parts and supplies available using manual or computerized inventory systems
• Order preparation to replenish parts and supplies
• Sell spare parts and accessories for motor vehicles, machinery and equipment in a retail establishment
• Advise retail customers or internal users on suitability combination of parts, supplies or materials is required.

Storekeepers and Partspersons Jobs in Canada (NOC 14401)

Job Requirements:

• Generally a high school diploma is required.
• Two-year apprenticeship may be required
• High school specialized training and one-year college program for part-time students.
• Professional certification for department personnel is available, but not required, in all provinces and territories.
• Experience in clerical related work or as a warehouse clerk may be required for department clerks.
• Red Mark Certification is also available to qualified parts workers after passing the intercity Red Mark exam.

Terms of Employment:

• Full time
• Permanent
• 40 hours per week
• Day, Evening, Shift, Overtime, Morning

Salary: $15.00 – $22.00 per hour

Required Years of Experience: 1 year to 2 years of experience or in related field.
