Job Description
Transmission Engineer opportunity with an established multi-office, an industry-leading consulting engineering firm. The client is looking for a Transmission Engineer with problem-solving, logic, and creativity skills and would have the opportunity to be part of a multi-discipline and highly interactive team of engineers, in a professional environment. Expected to have some level of autonomy to complete tasks.
Requirements:
- Development of plans, specifications and inspection reports. Advises on technical or equipment problems and gives recommendations.
- Preparations of feasibility studies, specifications, costs and system needs.
- Assist with preparation of substation designs and construction drawings. Knowledge of soil erosion, sediment control, and stormwater management.
- Administration of material purchases and construction contracts. While evaluating, appraising and giving a recommendation on system use.
- Ensures proper sizing of protective devices and specifications.
- Develop procedures, interprets policies and uses independent judgment to analyze engineering situations and provides solutions.
- Performs duties assigned and keeps engaged with current trends.
Required Qualifications
- BS Engineering Degree from accredited college or university.
- P.E is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 6-12 years’ experience in electrical buildings design.
- Proficient int tin Microsoft Office.
- Electrical Utility background in system design and planning.
