Job Description

• Set up, program and operate one or more computer numerically controlled (CNC) or manual woodworking machines such as saws, moulders, lathes, routers, planers, edgers, pressing machines, shapers, drills and sanders to fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures and other wood products
• Operate gluing machines to glue pieces of wood together or press and affix wood veneer to wood surfaces
• Operate preset special-purpose woodworking machines to fabricate wood products such as coat hangers, mop handles, clothes pins and other products
• Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions
• May clean and lubricate equipment, and replace parts as necessary.
• Examine finished workpieces for smoothness, shape, angle, depth-of-cut, or conformity to specifications and verify dimensions, visually and using hands, rules, calipers, templates, or gauges.
• Start machines, adjust controls, and make trial cuts to ensure that machinery is operating properly.
• Monitor operation of machines and make adjustments to correct problems and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Examine raw woodstock for defects and to ensure conformity to size and other specification standards.
• Adjust machine tables or cutting devices and set controls on machines to produce specified cuts or operations.
• Install and adjust blades, cutterheads, boring-bits, or sanding-belts, using hand tools and rules.

Job Requirements

• Highschool Dilpoma or equivalent
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to train and share knowledge
• Effective communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills
• Ability to read drawings
• Comprehension of written documentation
• able to lift and carry 20lbs on a frequent basis and 50lbs on occasion

Terms of Employment:

• Permanent employment
• Full time
• 40 hours per week
• Evening, night

Required Years of experience: 1-2 Years of experience

Salary: $14.00 – $18.00 per hour
